Members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to the Wells Fargo Bank on Odell Avenue shortly after noon on Monday, Nov. 19, where there was a report of a suspicious bag. Inside the bag, they found the intact body of Deshawn Cortez-Seaborne, who had been stabbed multiple times before his body was left at the bank.

The investigation into the dead body led to the conclusion that Cortez-Seaborne had been murdered in the Bronx and the body was left in Yonkers in a failed attempt to conceal the homicide, Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said on Tuesday.

Politopoulos said that the investigation led them to identify two suspects, Christopher Myrie, 48, and Jonisha Graham, both of the Bronx. They’ve since been arrested and are being charged in Yonkers with one count each of concealment of a human corpse, a felony.

The local charges are being prosecuted by Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr.’s office. No suspects have been charged with murder for the death of Cortez-Seaborne. Myrie and Graham are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Dec. 21.

The criminal investigation has been taken over by the NYPD, with an assist from the Yonkers Police Department as it continues.
